A Web-Based Tool for Spatio-Multidimensional Analysis of Geographic and Complex Data
نویسنده
چکیده
Spatial OLAP (SOLAP) integrates spatial data into OLAP systems, and SOLAP models define spatial dimensions while measuring spatio-multidimensional operators. In this paper, the author presents the concepts of geographic and complex measures that allow integrating geographic and complex information as subjects of analysis in spatial data warehouses. The concept of geographic measure extends the concept of spatial measure to the semantic component of geographic information. The concept of complex measure allows introducing complex data as subjects of multidimensional analysis. To reduce the gap in flexibility between spatial and multidimensional analysis, this paper proposes a symmetrical representation of measures and dimensions. Additionally, the author presents a Web-based SOLAP prototype, GeWOlap, that enriches existing SOLAP tools by effectively and easily supporting symmetrical geographic/complex measures and dimensions for modeling and visualization. To validate this approach, the simulated environmental data concerning the pollution of the Venice lagoon is used. DOI: 10.4018/978-1-4666-0333-2.ch003

GoOlap Vers l'Analyse Spatio-Multidimensionnelle à l'aide du Geobrowser Google Earth
Spatial OLAP (SOLAP) systems do not completely integrate visualization, interaction and analysis functionalities of Geographic Information Systems. In this paper, we propose a flexible Web SOLAP tool, GoOlap, which combines OLAP and Geovisualization functionalities through the integration of the geobrowser Google Earth and the OLAP tool Mondrian/JPivot. Google Earth enriches spatio-multidimensi...

Designing a Volunteer Geographic Information-based service for rapid earth quake damages estimation Introduction The advent of Web 2.0 enables the users to interact and prepare free unlimited real time data. This advantage leads us to exploit Volunteer Geographic Information (VGI) for real time crisis management. Traditional estimation methods for earthquake damages are expensive and tim...
متن کاملA Technical Framework for Visualizing Spatio-temporal Quality Metrics of Volunteered Geographic Information
The following paper presents a technical framework that allows for visualization of spatio-temporal quality metrics (user activity, topicality or number of features) of Volunteered Geographic Information using the example of OpenStreetMap (OSM). The aim of the system is to allow for analyzing the spatially heterogeneous data quality of VGI ...
متن کاملSolap: a New Type of User Interface to Support Spatio-temporal Multidimensional Data Exploration and Analysis
It is well known that transactional and analysis systems each require a different database structure. In general, the database structure of transactional systems is optimized for consistency and efficient updates while the database structure of analysis systems is optimized for complex query performance. Non-spatial data are reorganized in data warehouses in order to support analysis and decisi...
متن کاملSTCS-GAF: Spatio-Temporal Compressive Sensing in Wireless Sensor Networks- A GAF-Based Approach
Routing and data aggregation are two important techniques for reducing communication cost of wireless sensor networks (WSNs). To minimize communication cost, routing methods can be merged with data aggregation techniques. Compressive sensing (CS) is one of the effective techniques for aggregating network data, which can reduce the cost of communication by reducing the amount of routed data to t...
